LOOK OUT: old woman coming through...

I've been wanting to start back working out, because I haven't worked out regularly since I got sick last summer. The most "regular" work-out routine I had was when I attended Jada's Zumba class at Dothan High, but even that wasn't super regular.

If you are on FB, you may have seen some interesting pics of me and Jada dressed up like Christmas trees. ;) Those "costumes" won us both a Zumba fitness towel and a free week at Courtney's Studio. Well, I finally decided I was going to use my free week and get my money's worth out of it! (Even though I didn't actually spend any money on it...) Anyway. I started out by attending my first Booty Camp ever on Monday night. I barely made it through the first 2 or 3 songs...sat out the next 3...and had a very poor showing for the rest of the songs. I was hurting soo bad! Not to mention I felt like I was going to throw up or pass out or both!

Well, I had decided I would try Zumba in the circuit on Tuesday, a regular Zumba class on Wednesday, and Booty Camp again on Thursday. Yesterday, when I got off work, there was NO WAY I was going to work out!!! I'd been sorta' limping around because my upper legs were soooo sore and all that. I think Zumba is off the table for today, because I feel a little worse. My upper legs are still sore and even stiff! It hurts to bend down...and it has hurt, since Booty Camp, to even stand up after sitting down in a chair. I couldn't move my legs in bed last night without it hurting. I'm beginning to wonder if I actually pulled my muscles or something, because I have NEVER been this sore from a workout EVER.

Also, if I don't feel better tomorrow, Booty Camp will probably be off the plate as well, which would mean for my free week, I only got one class! :(  I should've just done a regular Zumba class to get back in the swing of things and then I could've gone yesterday AND today and definitely tomorrow! Oh well...you live and you learn.

Just sayin'....

Maybe one of these days I'll actually blog about my life...

LOL

Forgiveness

As I was doing my supposed-to-be-daily confessions the other morning, one of them stuck out at me like it never has before.

"I forgive others as Christ has forgiven me..."

The enormity of that statement hit me for probably the first time ever. God doesn't do anything half-way. If He does something, He goes all-out. Look at His love, mercy, etc. His forgiveness is no different. Just look at Psalm 103:12 - "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." (KJV) Why did God use east and west instead of north and south? (Everyone, say it with me! You know the answer...) BECAUSE THE EAST AND WEST NEVER MEET. BUT IF YOU GO NORTH, EVENTUALLY YOU WILL BE HEADED SOUTH AND VICE VERSA.

So, when God forgives, He doesn't just forgive. He FORGETS. And, in His book, we've never done it. So that is how I am supposed to forgive others. But how many times does someone hurt me and everything else they have ever done (that I supposedly forgave them for) comes right back up again?

A New Year

So...last year was CRAZY! I had to deal with a lot of stuff I wasn't expecting...and I don't think I really handled everything all that well. And it's my fault - no one else's.

I didn't turn my back on God, really. I love Him a lot and want to follow His plan for my life. But I really struggled this past year with letting go of MY hopes and dreams and just trusting the fact He has good plans for me. I was so impatient. I thought God was taking too long so I tried to make things happen on my own. And of course, all my efforts only screwed my life up even more and caused me more pain yet again.

So this year, I am determined that things are going to change. They have to, because I can't keep living like this. I'm tired of being miserable and having to hold it together and act like everything is great when I just want to scream that it's not.

I dealt with some really tough times last year, and didn't really have a person that I could lean on. I mean, I have some really awesome friends and I love them a lot! But there are some very personal things that I'm not entirely comfortable sharing with even them!

So after thinking about all the mess that was the year 2010, I have decided that I am not going back down! I'm going after God this year and believing that it will be the BEST YEAR YET!

I'm such a sap...

So today was another great day. (Note the sarcasm.)

Dealt with all kinds of thoughts, as well as LOTS of work. Still don't feel like I've made much headway in that department. I thought when I added more hours, it would give me more time to get all this end of year stuff done earlier...I didn't realize even MORE work would appear to keep me from getting practically anything accomplished. I had such high hopes of starting the new year off right...with a cleaned up office, new computer up and running, etc., etc. So far, it looks like a lot of that will have to wait.

Anyway. Back to the point...

I've always LOVED writing.  And when I say writing, I mean fictional stories. I used to spend my class periods (when I attended an actual school) writing stories. My best friend at the last school I attended (for 7th-9th grades) also loved to write. So we would read each other's stories during class and then give each other feedback. "This sounded weird...Maybe you should say something about this..."  That kind of stuff. It was great. I still love writing, but it has been a VERY long time since I've been able to sit down and actually get anywhere.  I can be taking a shower or putting on my makeup and be carrying on this inner dialogue...creating a whole story between characters. But when I sit down to put it on paper (or type it out on the computer), it always leaves me and I have nothing.

Well, I had a story come to me this evening. I sat down to write, but it just wasn't happening. Then I got on the computer and started to type. I've been balling like a baby. It's so sad to me! I know, I know..."Then why write a sad story?" It's not that I intend to. I had a great plot all going and then it just took a turn in that direction. Maybe because it made things more dramatic? Or maybe it was because life really isn't like the movies. Everything doesn't always have a happy ending. And since I've been dealing with quite a bit of that myself lately, I relate to it more? I don't know.

But despite the fact it's sad, it could turn out to be a good story if I could finish it, because there are some really good points I can make in it. But that does seem to be the hard part for me - finishing it! I actually started writing in the middle, because I felt if I tried to start from the beginning, I'd lose it and not get anywhere. So I started right where I was and I'm moving toward the end, then hopefully I'll be able to go back and write the beginning.

Well that was random...

So I went to my doctor's appointment today.

I walked in there and he greeted me as usual.  When I got on the table for him to adjust me, he asked, "Have you met a guy since the last time I saw you?"  The question caught me off guard, but I answered truthfully, "No."  Then he asked me, "Are you sure?"  Once again, I was kind of surprised.  But I answered, "Yep."  He then replied, "Okay.  Well you have that happy 'I-just-met-a-guy' look today."  I said, "Oh.  Well, that's good though, I guess?"  And I laughed.

I called my sister and told her about it.  I told her I figure it's a good thing if I looked that happy, but it was definitely not because of a guy.  And considering I was more than a little frustrated this afternoon and all that, I would say it was a very promising experience.  I guess???
